We will be walking through Kay Arthur's, Lord I Want to Know You, for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 year. This study walks through fifteen attributes of God to help us better understand, and prayerfully, love deeper the God whom we serve. In a time where eyes are easily fixed on people and circumstance, my prayer through this study is He would gently lift our eyes to Himself.
The main verse for this study is, "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and is safe" (Proverbs 18:10). We will be challenged in our walk by questions such as: where do I run in times of trouble? Who do I turn to for safety? What do I seek in order to be rescued? Who do I seek out as my rescuer?
Due to the restrictions of COVID, the women's Bible study will look a little bit different. We will be meeting in small groups for one-hour to discuss what we have learned together. Through this, we will read Scripture, discuss/learn who He is as He reveals Himself to us through His Word, and pray for and encourage one another.
You will find several options listed below with limited spots per meeting time/location. If there is a specific day/time that only works for you and you find that option is filled, please do not hesitate to reach out to Maegan ([email protected]). We will maintain smaller groups and distancing during the study for everyone's safety. We will attempt to meet in person as the weather permits with the chance some of the study will move to Zoom.
The cost for the study material is $10. You can pay via Venmo (@CharlottesvilleCommunityChurch), via check (106 Goodman St. Ste. A-2, 22902) or online. Please note in the memo line: ABIDE 2020. The deadline to register for the study is Friday, October 2.
I pray this is an enriching time as we dig deep into the character of who God is through His Word. As we "strive side by side for the sake of the gospel" (Phil. 1:27), I pray we readily seek out ways to "spur one another on to love and good deeds" (Hebrews 10:24-25) as we ABIDE in His word together.
