Please join RCMG for a guided tour of the Healing Gardens Tour at Muriel Sahlin Arboretum on Tuesday, September 27th from 4pm-6pm. We’d love to show you what we've done to make the park a space for healing and recovery.
Stroll with us along the pathways that wind in and around the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum gardens and view the beautiful and unique signage (created by our RCMG Communication’s Team) that help park visitors understand how nature contributes positively to our mental and physical well-being.
For many gardeners, the evidence surrounding Healing Gardens may seem obviously true and reinforce what you already believe. Most gardeners feel deeply that the time spent outdoors in nature is: "one of the most important things that any of us can do for ourselves, those we love, people throughout the world, and the living systems that support us all is to connect with nature. That connection can start in the simplest of ways, beginning in childhood and renewing through all the stages of life. It can take many forms and occur in many ways. It requires places and spaces for people to connect with nature’s richness and complexity from backyards to apartment rooftops, on city streets and rural roadways, on school grounds and in urban neighborhoods, from wild protected areas to urban parks. Connecting with nature helps to bring us all peace and good health, and provides the foundation for resilient, healthy ecosystems, communities, and economies to thrive and remain for generations and generations to come."
(The preceding quote is from the MN Master Gardener’s “Nature Heals” module ©2018. Volunteers can sign up to take this training later this fall.)
