Faith Mission Workshops
Every day significant challenges are faced by socio-economically disadvantaged families. Can people who haven’t faced such challenges develop a greater understanding that helps lead to positive change? Our desire is to have a positive impact on the well-being of others but the complexities of poverty, cultural differences, and day to day living can make this very difficult. The good news? Yes, we can learn to serve one another with dignity and effectiveness. It might, however, take a willingness to step into another person’s shoes.
The Cost of Poverty Experience is a simulation that offers a glimpse into obstacles faced, decisions that have to be made, and consequences that impact families every day in and around Gainesville, FL. Participants face real-life scenarios during a simulated month of time and the experience exposes barriers, reasons for frustration and confusion, and results of difficult choices.
Faith Mission is excited to offer the Cost of Poverty Experience for the 4th year. Join us for this very impactful workshop Saturday, November 9th, 8:45am - 12:30 pm, at Faith Mission (3701 NE 15th St). There is no cost to attend. Limited to the first 40 participants who register.
