Westover Farmers Market Volunteers
Please select the time slot you'd like to volunteer at the market, Sundays May 6 through November 25. Once the needed number of volunteers has signed up for that time slot, the slot will be closed. Thanks for your support of the Westover Farmers Market. See you Sunday!
Here is a brief description of the tasks:
Set-up (6:30 to 8:00 a.m., an hour and a half shift) requires putting up the fencing, signs, etc. and guiding and helping vendors if they need it. Occasionally covering for them so that they can grab a coffee or visit the restroom before the market opens.
Market Booth (8:00 to 10:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., two hour shifts) making sure the market activities are flowing well; manning the WFM booth and other activities as the market manager requests; answering questions; advising any person in the market with a dog that dogs (other than service dogs) are not permitted due to federal and Arlington health regulations; keeping the market tidy.
Closing (11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m., a one-hour shift) - Packing up the market tent supplies; breaking down the WFM tent for transport; removing the orange safety fencing on the street and market traffic signage. Monitoring traffic as the fences are removed and before all the vendors have left. Assisting vendor needing help with packing up their gear.
The market manager or a WFM committee member will drop off and later collect the trailer with the market supplies. Please note that the first four slots for each market day are for the market manager and assistant manager working that day and for those responsible for bringing and removing the trailer.
