Family Promise Volunteers
We need many volunteers to make our host weeks possible! Please read the following list for descriptions of the various volunteer roles.
Set-Up Team: We need a team of volunteers to help set-up on Sunday at 3 pm. These volunteers will remove and relocate furniture from the Sunday School rooms, unload the Family Promise trailer, and set up the rooms with beds, the families' belongings, and supplies. We need 6-10 volunteers for this team, and these volunteers do not need to have completed the volunteer training.
Meal Volunteers/Dinner Hosts: We need volunteers to provide meals for the families during our host week. This includes breakfast foods they can take on-the-go, snacks, sandwich supplies, and dinners. Volunteers that provide dinner will also act as hosts for the dinner shift, eating with the family, playing with the children, helping with homework, etc. We must have 2-4 volunteers for the dinner shift.
***If you are signing up to be a dinner host, please list the meal you will provide.
Transportation Volunteers: We need several people who are able to drive the Family Promise van. These volunteers will pick up the families from the Youth Center at 7 am every morning (time may vary depending on the families' schedules) and take them to the Day Center in Warner Robins (sometimes they have to go straight to work and/or school). The families will later be picked up around 5:30 in the evening (time may vary depending on their schedules) and brought back to the Youth Center.
Overnight Volunteers: We need 2 volunteers each night that can stay overnight in the Youth Center. The overnight shift is from 8 pm to 7 am each night. The families are usually settling in for the night by the time these volunteers arrive, so it's a pretty easy job. Bring a book to read or something to do!
Break-Down Team: We need a team to help break-down the following Sunday at 7 am. These volunteers load everything back on the trailer and prepare the rooms for Sunday School. We need 6-10 volunteers for this team, and these volunteers do not need to have completed the volunteer training.
***Please note that all volunteers must have completed the Family Promise Volunteer Training (with the exception of the set-up and break-down teams). Also, if you would like to help in a capacity that is not listed (providing snacks, laundry, tutoring, etc.), contact Katie at [email protected] or 987-1852.
