St. Timothy's Episcopal Church
St. Timothy's and Beth Chaim will be co-hosting the Winter Nights Shelter at St. Timothy's Parish Hall. We need volunteers to donate, prepare, and serve hot, nutritious meals for 35 to 50 people. St. Timothy's volunteers will provide volunteers and meals the first week and Beth Chaim will cover the second week.
The DINNER MEAL TEAM will meet at St. Timothy's at 4:30 PM on the date selected, prepare their planned menu, serve the meal at 6:30 PM, eat with the Shelter guests, clean up following the meal, and head home at about 8:00 PM.
The WEEKEND BREAKFAST MEAL TEAM arrives at 6:30 AM to prepare the breakfast, serve breakfast at 8:30 AM, clean up and head home around 10:00 AM.
The MEAL TEAM LEADER is responsible for contacting Meal Team Members with details regarding the planned menu and logistical details (such as who buys the ingredients, how you will divide expenses, etc.) and joins the meal team on the date selected.
There are only 6 people per team; so, if you want to sign up your whole family, sign up each member of the family individually. Please, no children under 10 in the kitchen. Things can get a bit hectic in the kitchen and getting the meal out on time is important. If you have young children, we'll find other things for them to do like playing with the shelter children, putting the salt and pepper shakers on the table, etc.
