Central Bark Canine Events Barn Hunt
This is the website/electronic sign up for Central Bark Canine Events 2022 Barn Hunt Private Lessons!
These private lessons are intended to introduce, educate and expand your knowledge of the fun dog sport of Barn Hunt
Our two instructors are Barn Hunt Judges with years of experience in the sport. They have thousands of hours watching, judging and teaching Barn Hunt. We have lots of drills to help you refine your skills!
The cost is $30 per half hour lesson. A 30 minute lesson is appropriate for a single new dog or two experienced dogs that just need a little tweaking. Two dogs may need an hour lesson, in which case sign up for two half hour lessons and we will alternate dogs giving each a break while we run the other dog.
A private lesson is required before entry into a group class will be allowed. This is to ensure that the dog will fit into a class format well.
All private lessons are at:
GRACE FARMS
78 Gunther Road Central Square NY 13036 in our Christmas Tree barn. The overhead door to the training barn will be open.
Private lessons cover introductions, specific challenges and needs or provide additional practice for dogs and handlers wanting to play Barn Hunt.
Please bring your dog, your dog's up to date rabies vaccination record, a small bag of soft treats (like cheese or hotdogs or beef chunks) and water with water bowl.
Depending on the time of the year be prepared for hot weather and cold weather with shade and/or dog jacket. Approprate leash, collar and harness are needed as well.
You will be asked to sign a liability waiver if its your first lesson here at the farm.
WEATHER POLICY:
There is a chance that if the weather is inclement (icy, <10 degrees or > 85 degrees in the summer) we may need to cancel or postpone your lesson.
If the weather seems to be an issue, you can email or text (315) 558*3959 to confirm your lesson. We will call, text or cancel via this website- so please check your phone/email if the weather is dicey.
If your dog is afraid of thunderstorms and the risk is high, it is your responsibility to cancel ASAP before the lesson. It's never worth making a bad association for your dog and we understand that!
MISSED LESSON POLICY:
Lessons for Barn Hunt are a hot commodity and many people are seeking spots. Private lessons also require a person to be present waiting at the training barn. If you cannot make your lesson, please update your sign up to cancel or move your lesson at least 24 hours before your lesson. Many times someone can make your last minute leavings!
We know bad stuff happens at (the most inapprotune) surprise times...so if you cannot make your lesson at the last minute please call or text (315) 558 *3959 to let us know ASAP.
No call/no show situations will ELIMINATE your future private lesson potential. These are high demand lessons and not showing up with no calls/texts or other forms of comunnication that you won't make it...will prevent you from future lessons.
LATE TO LESSON POLICY:
You should plan on arriving 15 minutes before your lesson to walk your dog and settle in. Don't be late for your lesson! If you are late...your lesson ends at your scheduled time. If the instructors are running late (and weird stuff happens) we may push your lesson a bit later.
RAT SAFETY:
Our barn hunt rats are much loved companions and rat safety is of the utmost importance. We NEVER train on loose rats.
We will teach you ways to safely manage your dog and the rat and ensure this awesome sport is fun for everyone!
