Centre County Historical Society

2021 Stocking Stuffer

Hello All!

We are pleased to bring back the 19th Annual Stocking Stuffer, Magical Holiday Market in-person this year at the Centre Furnace Mansion!

Adjustments will be made to make the sale as safe as possible for our volunteers, guests and vendors:

  • We will start the sale with a CCHS Member appreciation pre-sale afternoon on Thursday, December 2 that is not advertised to the public.
  • Masks will be required inside.
  • We will be monitoring occupancy to provide increased space for our guests and volunteers to have room for physical distancing.
  • Touch surfaces will be disinfected regularly.
  • We will have a general training that will include a cashier training by Zoom on Thursday, November 18 at 5:00 p.m. Here is the link to register for the meeting:
     https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZArfuuvqDgqH9IzysWEqFqvanaoYTawW7Xr
The meeting will be recorded so you can see it even if you cannot make it. If this you cannot make it, please contact Mary Sorensen: [email protected] to receive a link after the meeting.

Thank you to all who are considering signing up [or have already] to volunteer. This is the Centre County Historical Society’s largest annual fundraiser and we appreciate it and look forward to working with you!

We also recognize and extend our gratitude to Mimi Barash Coppersmith for her generous sponsorship.

RECRUIT YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!

We are always looking for people to assist and there are several positions and times throughout the event listed below in the sign-up.

These are areas that we always seem to need extra help with:

  • Vendor Check-in, November 29 & 30
  • Room Hosts, December 2-5
  • Vendor Check-out and Mansion clean-up, Monday, December 6
  • Parking December 2-5

Most volunteer slots are about 2 or 3 hours long.  YOU MAY CHOOSE ONE OR ANY NUMBER OF SLOTS.

Dress is smart casual for event volunteers, though jeans are fine for non-event days for behind the scenes roles.

If you are new to volunteering with the Stocking Stuffer, simply contact Mary Sorensen at the email below to receive the information you will need. If you would like more information on a volunteer position or would prefer to call or email us to sign up, please feel free to contact Mary at msorensen@centrefurnace.org or call 814-234-4779 and either she or Johanna Sedgwick can help you with sign-up.

If you are volunteering for the Stocking Stuffer sale on December 2-5 the entry fee to the sale is complimentary. We invite you to shop before or after your shift!

The Stocking Stuffer has benefited the Centre County Historical Society and its efforts to maintain the Centre Furnace Mansion and the Boogersburg School for 18 years and we sincerely appreciate your part in it's annual success.  Our special thanks to all who help to coordinate the many and varied details of this event.
