2019 WAKE Up and Read Book Drive Sort
Thank you for supporting WAKE Up and Read! At our volunteer sorting events, you will be helping us sort and box some of the 110,000 books that are collected and re-distributed to kids in Wake County who may not have books in their homes.
During the shift, volunteers help us separate books by age groups and count and pack books into boxes so they are well organized for later distribution. This is a fun task, and not difficult - we will give easy to follow directions and there will be lots of folks who can help and answer questions!
Volunteers are welcome to come individually or to come as a group of friends, family, neighbors or co-workers. When groups register, please include the names, email addresses and phone numbers for each person in order for them to get reminders. If you have a group of more than 10 persons, please contact us at [email protected] Children ages 5-14 are welcome to join in the effort, but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. High school-age youth may attend unchaperoned, but must provide a signed parental release.
Please come to the Walnut Street entrance to Cary Towne Center. Our book sorting events will be held in the space that is immediately to the left of that entrance.
Thank you for helping, and we look forward to working with you!
