Lake Merritt UMC's Food Ministries could use some help!
There are many ways to help, even from home.
LMUMC Food Programs have continued to serve throughout this pandemic through the help of many volunteers. Serving 200 meals through Lake Lunches weekly, 350 grocery bags monthly, meal distributions through our partners, Eastlake United for Justice and World Central Kitchen and even offering help with voter registration and stimulus check applications. The blessed return has been a feeling of connectedness while we are still trying to keep everyone safe.
Beyond the volunteers who arrive to bag food and make sandwiches and walk the lake, who bring collections of bags and toiletries.. and so much more.. there are many ways to help to keep these programs thriving and improving in our service to the community.
It takes the collective to sustain this work. Please consider ways you and somone you know can help from the list below. Many of these things can be done remotely from home or in safe solitude at the church when needed. If you want to know more before signing up, you can reach out to Rose Lynn ([email protected]) or Kathleen ([email protected]). Once you sign up, we'll reach out to you to work together and support you along the way. Coming together now is critical to sustaining our programs in the near and long term!
