MLK Jr. Day of Service 2022

We are excited to provide a mix of at-home volunteer opportunities for this year's MLK Day of Service. Each project will benefit a different cause including people experiencing homelessness, local healthcare workers and local school children. 

PLEASE NOTE that you may need to pick up supplies from us at the SPUR office the week before they are due. All items will need to be dropped off finished items on Monday, January 17th between 9AM-3PM. 

MAKE MONSTER BOOKMARKS AT HOME: Create bookmarks at home for local students to help encourage them to read. Only basic art supplies are needed for this project. If you are in need of any of these materials please email Bryan when you sign up. After signing up you may download the Monster Bookmark Instructions and Template. Please return on Monday, January 17th between 9am-3pm.

BAKE COOKIES AT HOME: Make your favorite peanut-free cookies at home which will be delivered to My Brother's Table and added to their snack bags. All cookies must be individually wrapped and decorating of the bags is highly encouraged. Please return on Monday, January 17th between 9am-3pm.

PREPARE TREATS FOR MEDICAL STAFF AT HOME: Purchase 10 of your favorite regular size candy bars. SPUR will provide tags and ribbon for each bar which can be picked up during Monday, January 10th through Wednesday, January 12th between 9am-3pm at the SPUR office. Handwritten or Hand drawn cards thanking the medical staff for all they do are highly encouraged. Please return on Monday, January 17th between 9am-3pm.

Make Cookies For My Brothers Table

At home, make 2 dozen cookies using your favorite peanut butter-free recipe. Masks & gloves required while preparing baked goods. Cookies must be dropped off on Monday 1/17 from 9am-3pm.
