VBS 2022: Monumental - Celebrating God's Greatness

VBS IS 4 DAYS!

Monday – Thursday, June 13 - 16, 2022. VOLUNTEER HOURS ARE 8:15 AM to 12:15 (program starts Monday at 8:30 and ends at Noon)

IMPORTANT – PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND ONE OF THE VOLUNTEER MEETINGS (30 minutes long) Sunday, May 22 at 10:15 in the Fellowship Hall or Wednesday, May 25 at 6PM in the Media Center. 

LEADERSHIP FOR YOUTH EXPERIENCE (can be used for National Honor Society etc.).

Children of most adult member volunteer positions attend VBS for FREE. Child care for children of adult volunteers during the week of VBS is FREE and must be registered through our childcare.  For daycare please contact our Divine Redeemer Childcare 262-367-2972.

Craft Station Leader (ADULT)

Lead craft station with assistance from adult and youth helpers. Crafts have already been selected for this year and supplies have been ordered.

 

Craft Station Assistant (YOUTH or ADULT) (7)

Assist Craft Leader setting up supplies and assisting children as needed

 

First Aid Station (ADULT)

Administer first aid as needed

 

Bible Story Leader (ADULT)

Share the Bible message with the children in an engaging way

 

Surprise Station Leader (ADULT)

Be present as liaison between kids and "surprise" venue

 

Preschool Guide/Teacher (ADULT) Arrive 8:15 daily. (8)

You act as a preschool guide in the sanctuary and run a station for preschool children (Bible Stories, Craft, Music, or KidVid). All activities and materials will be provided for you. Snack and playtime station do not need an adult leader to run them.

 

Preschool Guides/Assistants (YOUTH) Arrive 8:15 daily. (14)

Guide preschool students to each station and assist at stations. POSITIONS ARE FLEXIBLE AS THEY ARE BASED ON ENROLLMENT.

 

Kindergarten Guide (ADULT) Arrive 8:15 daily. (4)

Be in charge of a group of students with an assistant guiding children from station to station. Responsibilities include attendance, safety and mobility. POSITIONS ARE FLEXIBLE AS THEY ARE BASED ON ENROLLMENT.

 

Kindergarten Guides/Assistants (YOUTH) Arrive 8:15 daily. (6)

Grade 1 Guide (ADULT) Arrive 8:15 daily. (4)

Greeters: Monday and Tuesday only.

Registration Day 1 (arrive by 7:45 AM) (9)

Take payment, guide parents where to take their children (arrive by 7:45 AM). One helper needed to hand out clipboards with registration forms to those not yet registered.

 

Registration Day 2-4/Parent Information Center

8:30 - 9:15 and 11:45 - Noon. Answer questions, take late payment, guide parents where to take their children. If needed, guide families of early pick up correct groups to sign their children out. Information will be provided.

 

Decorations leader (ADULT) (2)

Plan and lead committee in creation of decorations

 

Decorations Committee Helper (ADULT) (6)

Make simple decorations as planned by leaders; this is done before VBS even begins. Dates to be determined. Some decor may be take-home projects.

Prep Week Helpers (12)

Indicate day(s) you can come M-Th the week before VBS to help with prepping of materials (sorting/bagging t-shirts, CD's, teacher bags, and registration prep etc)

 

Clean Up Crew on Thursday starting at noon (YOUTH or ADULT) (15)

Meet in school lobby at Noon Thursday & wait for instructions before cleaning/taking decorations down. Care must be taken when taking down decorations as they will be used by another church. For this reason, we ask for only older, careful youth & adults.

 

Music Leader

Learn actions to songs ahead of time, lead music during opening and closing assemblies and during the Kid Video/Music station for grades K-6. Decide on and lead 1 song for the 9:15 service in the gym the Sunday following VBS. Music provided

 

Music Assistants (YOUTH) (3)

Assist Music Leader with singing and teaching hand motions

 

Photographer

Take photos as directed by Youth Director throughout the week

 

Kid Video Station Leader

Run video & lead discussion questions which are provided. Music leader will also lead songs at this station. (this station has Music and Kid Vid)

 

Opening/Closing Skit Guy or Gals (YOUTH or ADULT)

Opens and closes day with a short but fun skit (skits provided)

 

Tech Helper (2)

Help run Pro-presenter for "Opening" and "Closing" from 8:30-9:15 and 11:35-12:05

 

Opening/Closing Prayer (typically pastors or principals) (4)

Starts and ends the day in prayer with the kids
