It's the beginning of a new and different school year and time to pay your PTC dues ($12 per family.)
We all know that this year is going to be a year like no other, and nothing the PTC does will be exactly like we have done in the past. We are committed to being both creative and flexible to find ways to still enrich our students' school experience, whether they are hybrid or remote. Especially in a year in which fundraising opportunities are limited, your dues are an important means for supporting these efforts. After school starts, you will receive access to the (*new this year!) electronic District 102 Combined Directory.
You may ask—with so many things cancelled, what will the PTC be spending money on this year? Fortunately we have an extremely creative group in place and we already have ideas to help make the year as best as it can be for the kids and teachers. We already purchased some awesome metal water bottles as a welcome back gift for students. We are expanding the room parent role and they have ideas to do things like fun virtual classroom contests where prizes are involved—hoping that brings some class unity and pride. We’d love to do things like activity/goodie bag drop offs where both hybrid and remote kids will get some surprises throughout the year. We also want to encourage teachers throughout the year—typically we do things like special lunches, where as this year we might need to change it up and do things like coffee gift cards, which actually ends up being more expensive. The ideas are just beginning but we really want to try and make this a fun year for the kids, despite how different it will look!
You will see that we have added an option to make an additional contribution to the PTC and are grateful for any extra support to offset the loss of income from some of the key fundraisers such as the Fall Clothing Sale and Parent Social Fundraisers. We thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
Does your employer match your gift? Many employers will match a gift to a nonprofit like the PTC. Please contact Debra Reid at [email protected] if you’d
like to double your contribution!
