Welcome new Club members! Would you like to meet other Club members and play pickleball? New Member Meetups for Novice players will be held on Saturday mornings. Depending on the number of players attending, a round robin format will be used. Advance sign-up is required (no drop-ins allowed). Sign up here. New Member Meetups are available for sign-up beginning 7 days before the event date. Wear court shoes and bring a paddle (and a pickleball if you have one).
This Meetup is for Novice pickleball players. To be a Novice, you should be able to safely play a game of pickleball without assistance. You should know the basic rules of the game (including score keeping) and be able to serve, dink, volley, and hit from the baseline with some success. If you haven't reached this level yet, see the instructions below for Beginners.
New members are invited to attend and play in these Meetups for up to approximately five weeks. After that, players should transition to QCPC Organized Play or Skill-Level round robins and/or private play with new QCPC friends.
This Round Robin will be held on Saturday mornings. (Do not be confused by the time shown under the date on the left side of the sign-up list. That is the time of day on the seventh day before the event when sign-ups start.)
1. "PLAYERS" - Members who sign-up here (up to 10) have a reserved space in the Meetup. If you sign-up but have a change of plans, delete your sign-up so that someone else can sign-up. When the Players list is full, sign up on the "Others Interested" list.
2. NEW - "ALTERNATES" - New QCPC members since December 2020 who have transitioned out of New Member Meetups to Organized Play round robins may continue to play in this Meetup on a space-available basis until September 30, 2021. Sign up on the Alternates list to do so.
How the Alternates list works:
a. Alternates play on a space-available basis (fewer than 10 players on the Players list) in the order of sign-up. For example, if there are two vacancies on the Players list on the morning of the Meetup, only the first two players on the Alternates list should come to the courts ready to play. Additional players, if any, will not be able to play.
Special Instructions for Beginners and Advanced Players
Beginners: Do not sign up for this Meetup. Beginners must learn the fundamentals of pickleball and on-court safety before signing up for a Meetup or round robin. Please contact Jean Bustard ([email protected]) for assistance.
Advanced Players: New members who are advanced players (ratings of 4.0 or higher from USA Pickleball or IPTPA) looking to play in a suitable group should contact Dave Mungo ([email protected]).
