For our 30th anniversary, we are combining Entrelacé and Inspirations for one big festive fundraising event – I.C.E. Inspire – Create – Elevate. This showcase will be hosted by the Sapphires and Sawnee Ballet Theatre on Saturday, April 25 at Horizon Christian Academy.
I.C.E. is a student choreographed showcase (like a dance talent show) designed to encourage SSB dancers to explore their creative side and learn about the various aspects of choreographing a dance. Dancers will pick a song that inspires them, choreograph a dance, choose costumes (can be a past recital costume or something simple like shirts and dance pants), and edit their own music (Audacity is a free downloadable user-friendly program). 100% of the proceeds from I.C.E. will be donated to a non-profit organization. Last year, Inspirations dancers raised $620 for the Lustgarten Foundation benefitting pancreatic cancer research, which was matched 100% by the Dozen Dimes Foundation making our total funds raised $1,240!
This year’s showcase will raise money for Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in honor of Miss Courtney’s late mother-in-law that passed away 5 years ago this February.
This is where you need to sign up to reserve a spot to audition your choreography to be in the showcase. There is a $20 registration fee per dance (not per person in dance) which will be added to the Jackrabbit Account of the person that initially registered. If your work is selected for the showcase, and you meet all the deadlines listed below, you will receive 2 tickets to the show (or show of your choice if in more than one performance). If your work is incomplete or not selected, your $20 registration fee will be considered a donation to the cause we are raising money for.
There is a separate sign up if your dancers would like to reserve studio space. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e4aaaa72fa0f94-reserve4
