Plans are underway for this year's 6th Grade Celebration (tentatively scheduled for May 22 but whatever ends up being the last day of school). This is a morning event beginning with the photo booth followed by the ceremony and then the clap-out. Following the clap-out, 6th graders will spend the remainder of the morning hanging out together on the turf field at SMNW. They will walk back to the BH playground to eat lunch outside before 12:30 dismissal.
The theme is under refinement but is generally highway / road themed...think "Hitting the Trail", "Blazing a Trail", signs depicting Highway 2026, Summer Break: 2 Hours Ahead, directions to trailridge, Exit 2020: Benninghoven Elementary, a black carpet entrance made to look like a road bordered by orange cones, black table covers with yellow stripes to look like a road, songs about moving on or adventure, etc. Please jot down ideas as you think of any!
Below are several committees that we'd like to form. We will have one planning meeting to communicate overall details, and we'd like for at least one person from each committee to attend if possible and then committees can work on their respective tasks on their own and check in as questions or needs arise. That meeting will be on March 11 at 7:00 at Britney Hooper's (6506 Long Avenue).
Please note that there are also slots below for anyone who doesn't wish to be in on planning but is willing to help set up the evening prior.
