Cub Scout Pack 227
Did you know for every item we recycle or reuse, that's one less piece of trash that can become a part of the marine debris cycle threatening people and wildlife?
Sunday March 17th at 10:00am - Noon
Go to Tower #26- This is the Tower close to PCH and Warner near the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. Look for the Pack’s Red EZ Up and sign. We will have a marine life/environmental information session ( 15 minutes) at 10:00 am.
Wear: Pack 227 Red Activity Shirt (You may also want to wear a sweatshirt and hat depending upon the weather.)

Free Parking: Just tell the booth attendant you are there for the beach clean up. All beach clean-up participants will receive free parking provided that they help clean-up the beach for a minimum of 2 hours. After your clean up, you are welcome to enjoy the beautiful, clean beach – If the weather is nice, stay and enjoy the beach.
We ask participants to bring their own reusable supplies, if possible. Potential reusable supplies are: buckets, plastic grocery bags, gardening gloves, reusable bags, etc. You should also bring bottled water and sunscreen.
Make sure to wear your gloves at all times while picking up trash. Though they are rarely found, do not pick up syringes. Mark the spot and notify park staff. We will have a lifeguard or maintenance pick it up.
Please wear shoes while cleaning up the beach –be on the lookout for broken glass, coat hangers, wood with protruding nails and other sharp items. These items should be put directly in the trash can and should only be handled by adults.
Participation in this event will help fulfill a requirement ie. Tiger Adventure: Team Tiger #5 (Do an activity to help your community or neighborhood team); Wolf Adventure: Council Fire #4 (b) (Work together on a service project); Bear Adventure: Paws for Action #3(b) (Do a cleanup project that benefits your community); Webelos Adventure: Webelos Walkabout #6 (Complete a service project on or near the hike location) or Arrow of Light Adventure: Building a Better World #10(b) or Arrow of Light Adventure: Duty to God in Action #2(e).
