The Stampede Troupe is proud to announce open auditions for the new musical The Roy Orbison Experience written by Chris Trimboli.
About the show: Known across the world for his iconic voice, Roy Orbison’s music spanned the decades. Relive the stories behind some of the most memorable songs in the history of Rock N’ Roll, including Working For the Man, Only the Lonely, Crying, and, of course, the iconic classic Pretty Woman. Step back in time and learn about the man behind the signature shades.
Audition location: 2015-2nd Ave Unit G. Greeley CO 80631. If using maps or GPS put in the address 2017-2nd Ave. This is the front of the business complex. There is a driveway on the north side of the building. Take the driveway going west and come in through door G. We have a sign that says Stampede Troupe in the window.
Audition dates: May 3rd singing auditions. May 4th cold script reading, movement, and additional singing.
What to prepare for auditions? Please prepare 16-32 measures of a pop-rock song from any area or a song in the style of Roy Orbison. (No Roy songs for initial auditions). Bring your filled out audition form. Make sure to complete the conflict calendar. Bring sheet music for the accompanist. Click HERE to download audition form.
Cast Needs 2 males and 2 females.
Roy Orbison. Vocal range E2-E5 (3.1 octaves). He was classified as a High Baritone. The role of Roy should be able to play guitar, but not absoutely necessary.
Back up male. Comedic storyteller and singer also needs basic dance movements. Vocal range A2-A4
Back up singers and Storytellers need to be able to do simple dance. They become Roy's first and second wife characters.
Woman 1 vocal range G3-Eb5 strong belt A4
Woman 2 vocal range g3-Eb5 strong belt to c#4
Rehearsals To be determined by conflicts of the cast. Vocal and Choreography rehearsals will be first. Blocking rehearsals will be added in much later.
Tech schedule and show dates.
Load in July 5th 10am. All expected to help. Rehearsal 4pm.
Monday-Thurs. Tech/dress rehearsals call 6pm
Shows July 10-12. Call 6pm Curtain 7pm Friday and Saturday. Sunday call 1pm curtain 2pm. July 17-19 same schedule as first weekend. Strike follows performance on the 19th. Full cast to help with strike.
