The NRUMC Youth Ministry invites you to join us on Good Friday, April 19, for the Journey to the Cross, a guided prayer walk that follows the final steps of Christ's ministry on earth. It is intended to provide space for participants to reflect on the events of Jesus' crucifixion in a meaningful way.
The Journey to the Cross is open to everyone and all are welcome. This experience is ideal for young children, youth, and adults. It is a wonderful experience for families to share. NRUMC members are encouraged to invite their friends to attend.
Eleven interactive stations will be set up in the Youth Center, each providing inspiring ways to meditate on Jesus' Journey to the Cross. Take-away items will be available for small children at each station and attendants will be present to assist as you make your way.
As we move through Holy Week, the challenge for many of us is shutting out the noise and distractions of everyday life long enough to quiet our souls and listen to the Spirit of God.
The stations are: Silence Outer Noise, God in the Flesh, Mary Anoints, The Last Supper, Gethsemane, Jesus' Arrest, Jesus' Trial, Jesus' Crucifixion, Jesus' Death, Jesus' Burial, and Crossroads
There is no time limit for the guided prayer walk- however, we ask that you sign up for one of the time slots below so that the designated space in the Youth Center doesn't become too crowded. It takes approximately 30-45 minutes for most participants to complete the Journey to the Cross, but you are encouraged to take your time and move at a pace comfortable to you. There is no rush. Walk-ins will be welcomed.
