Angel's Place Race
Angels’ Place is a non-profit organization that provides people-centered services, including homes and professional support, for adults with developmental disabilities. Twenty residential homes are located in Oakland and Macomb County. The homes offer residents a family environment with an atmosphere of compassion, dignity, well-being and the potential for personal growth and acceptance.
Angels’ Place Race was started in 2008 to help support Angels’ Place and contribute to the organization’s ability to maintain its services. In 2017, 470 walkers and runners participated in the race and helped to raise $40,000.
We need your help as a:
Course Marshal: Your number one responsibility as a Course Marshal is to ensure the runners have a safe run and ensure that no vehicular traffic (other than official vehicles) enters the course. You will be placed at specific locations on the course that are key for the race. Please keep a watchful eye on traffic and cheer on the runners as they go by. In most circumstances, there will be a Police Officer close by at traffic locations. Course Marshal's should sign-in at the volunteer table by 8:15 AM and be at their location by 8:45 AM.
Water Station Attendant: Water Stations are set up along the race courses. All supplies are dropped off race morning by the Operations Crew. When the volunteers arrive at their station they will set up, serve the runners, and then break down the leftover supplies. A Captain will be designated for each water stop. Attendants should sign-in at the volunteer table by 8:15 AM and be at their location by 8:45 AM.
Parking Lot Assistant: Help park the many volunteer and race participants in the St. Dan's parking lot. Parking Lot assistants should sign-in at the volunteer table by 7:45 AM and be at their location by 8:00 AM.
