Once again, NFS will be hosting the very first water stop on the Wallis Sands Half Marathon course Sunday, May 19th!!
This is a GREAT spot! Hosting this spot means we need to be set up EARLY - the race starts at 8am and we need to be ready to go by then. It also means that we are done EARLY - last year we were packed up by 9am!!
We need LOTS of volunteers to make this a success! We will earn $300 for hosting, and runners will vote on their favorite water stop. The winner of that wins an additional $300! We won last year ago and we want to win again!!!!
We have lots of signs from last year, but if you are inclined to make more - have at it!! We need lots of enthusiasm, pom poms, cow bells & other noise makers!
The general location of where we will be is HERE. We will be a bit more south (and not on the sharp bend as we were last year). Race directors moved us per our request to be off the dangerous corner.
We will be there at 6:30am to start setting up. We could use some help that early, but really we need LOTS of people there by 7:30am to hand water and gatorade to runners. But, above all else, we need VOLUNTEERS so please grab your kids, neighbors, and strangers you meet along the way (well, not really) and come on down for a GREAT time!
7:30am - 9:00am EDT
900 Ocean Blvd., Rye - Water Stop #1, near the sharp bend in the road by the Rye Harbor State Park.
