Extended Day Programs
Epiphany School offers extracurricular clubs through our Extended Day program. We run three club sessions: Fall, Winter, and Spring. There is no deposit necessary for signing up, however, please only sign up for clubs you intend to attend. Please do not sign up simply to hold the space. Clubs that carry an additional fee are billed to families in their monthly billing statement with other Extended Day charges.
Spring clubs will begin the week of March 4th and run for 10 weeks (excluding spring break) through the week of May 13th.
Clubs currently confirmed for spring on SignUp Genius include:
- Gymnastics, Mondays 3:45-4:45 pm, Grades K-4.
Extended Day Fee $18.25/session
Back by popular demand! Learn and practice your gymnastics skills with Epiphany's own gymnastic experts. Students in this club will learn how to execute various moves with the goal of performing a short routine during the final session. Sophia Magnano '18, Taz Nunn '18, and Vivian Gossard '18 will give tips on improving form and help spot students as they practice their routines. Under the supervision of Coach Larabee, various pieces of equipment will be available for students to try out new things or hone skills they already have. Students of all ability levels will enjoy this club!
- Capoeira, Thursdays 3:45-4:45 pm, Grades K-5.
In this club, students will develop a sense of community as they are introduced to Brazilian culture and learn the physical and musical aspects of the art of Capoeira. Students will participate in the "roda" (Capoeira circle) and peform "ginga" (the basic Capoeira swing), "esquiva" (dodges), kicks and acrobatics. Students will understand the importance of stretching, warm-ups and strengthening exercises physically and learn the stories and philosophy of Capoeira. This club will be led by Fenix Capoeira.
- Chess, Tuesdays 3:45-4:45 pm, Grades K-5.
Students can learn chess or advance their skills in this game of strategy with chess grandmaster Matt Fleury. Offered for the second consecutive term, all slots are available for new students to sign up or existing students to continue. This club is led by Seattle Chess School.
- Sewing, Tuesdays, 3:45-5:15 pm, Grades 1-5.
Students are invited to learn a skill they will use for a lifetime and a hobby they will forever enjoy…sewing! No experience necessary for boys and girls to learn the basics and beyond. New students will learn machine safety and beginner sewing techniques, while the more experienced students can expand on skills they already have. The class will begin with a simple project, then students will advance at their own pace to more exciting and challenging projects throughout the session. This class is designed to teach children with both beginning and advanced skills. Projects, which are constantly rotating during the quarter, include backpacks, phone cases, clothing, accessories, bags, games, stuffed animal and more! This club will be led by Little Hands Creations.
Parkour, Wednesdays, 3:45 - 5:15 pm, Grades K-5.
Parkour is the ability to move fluidly through your environment from one place to another. In this club, children will safely learn to progress through the basic parkour movements of jumping, vaulting, climbing, swinging, balancing, and rolling. The movements build strength, balance, and coordination while safely growing your kids' ability to engage and conquer their environment while overcoming obstacles both physically and mentally. Practicing parkour skills fosters creativity and boosts confidence. Accomplishing challenges that seemed impossible at one point will give your child the confidence to achieve whatever they set their mind to. This club will be led by Kong Academy.
Epiphaniacs Improv Club, Tuesdays 3:45-4:45 pm, Grades 3-5.
Extended Day fee $18.25/Per Session
Do you know what Improv is? It’s the art of performing without a script, and it’s really, really, really fun... and a little scary! This club will challenge you to use your body, brain, and voice while you have an awesome time learning a new skill: Improv! You’ll practice thinking fast on your feet and teamwork while learning cool warm-ups and games, basic stagecraft and using your imagination in a place where there are no wrong answers. Anyone can do improv, just take a breath and jump in! This club will be led by 10-year Jet City Improv alumnus Matt Lewis.
Mandarin, Thursdays 3:45-4:45 pm, Grades K-5. Mandarin club continues, with new content and subject matter.
CANCELLED: Spanish, Wednesdays, 3:45 - 4:45 pm, Grades K-5.
Unfortunately, Sponge School can no longer provide the spanish instructor reserved for Epiphany. We are obligated to cancel this club at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that another club can serve as a suitable option until we are able to offer this club in the future.
In-house Clubs Pricing
Many of our in-house clubs are included in the cost of Extended Day. The fee for these clubs will be listed as “no additional cost.” For example, if your student is signed up for the French Club, you will simply pay the $18.25 for each day they attend the club. Childcare up until 6:00 pm is included in that $18.25 daily fee. Students should check-in with Extended Day after school.
Outside Vendor Clubs Pricing
Most of our Outside Vendor Clubs are charged as a packaged deal that includes childcare before and after the club in addition to the club itself. The fee for these clubs will be listed as a dollar amount. This fee includes the cost of the club and childcare until 6:00 pm each day the club meets. Families on financial aid can apply their aid to one club that carries such a fee. Additional clubs will be full price. Students should check-in with Extended Day after school.
Descriptions can be found on the Extended Day tab on the school website. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Extended Day program manager at [email protected] or 206.659.3453.
