St. Simon Service Opportunity (Simon Servants)
Time: 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm
St. Simon will prepare a "Pick 2" meal of Homemade Quiche, Soup and Salad along with Drinks and Desserts. Volunteers are encouraged to eat with the patients/caregivers.

Volunteer Requirements for those going to Hope Lodge:
- Volunteers must be healthy with no symptoms of sore throat, runny nose, coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, fever, chills, unexplained rashes, general aches, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Those staying here have little to no immune system, and we need to keep them as healthy as possible.
- Volunteers must not have been exposed to chicken pox, shingles, measles, tuberculosis, hepatitis, or E.coli.
- Volunteers must be 13 or older; 16 or older to be in the kitchen; 18 and older if no guardian. Must have had chickenpox or been immunized for chickenpox. Teenagers must be assigned age-appropriate tasks. To protect our transplant patients, no children under age 13 permitted inside Hope Lodge.
Hope Lodge provides lodging and meals to cancer patients 18 years and older. Patients come from a 40 mile radius of the St. Louis area and stay at the facility with their caregivers, while receiving treatment at local hospitals. We will be providing dinner to approximately 70 guests, offering the convenience and warmth of a home cooked meal with encouragement during their illness.
Directions from St. Simon - Start out going southwest on Mueller Rd toward S Lindbergh Blvd. Turn left onto S Lindbergh Blvd. Merge onto 55 N. Merge onto I-44 W via EXIT 207B on the left toward Tulsa/Truman Pkwy. Get off at Grand. Take Grand and make a left on Lindell. Travel .18 miles and destination is on the right, just past Whittier St. If you reach Boyle Ave you've gone a little too far.
Parking is available in parking garage. Pull up to the gate and it will open. Please park in the visitor parking located on the upper ramp. We can provide rides to anyone who needs one as well. We will meet in lower church hall and leave at 2:30pm for anyone who wants to carpool or just follow.
Children are welcome to volunteer as well, if accompanied by a guardian.
Monetary donations are available. If this is a better option for you, please make your checks payable to St. Simon, and drop off or mail to the church office at 11011 Mueller Rd, 63123. Please note "Community Outreach" on your envelope and in the memo line. You can also now donate through the Online Giving button on our parish website @ www.stsimonchurch.org. Your monetary donations will be added to your year-end statement from St. Simon church.
