The Westminster Marching Band will host its Home Showcase competition on Saturday, September 29. This day is an opportunity to showcase our band, our school and our program! We are in need of many donations to help make this day a success!
In addition to all the other items listed on the sign up we need LOTS of baked goods! In the past we have had as many as 30 parents donate baked goods and had very little left! Baked goods are big sellers! IF there are any left over they can be frozen and given to our students as snacks during their competition days. So extra would be fine! We would rather have a surplus than not enough...they will not go to waste!
As always - Concerning Food Donations - For this event we ask that you please package the baked goods for individual sale that would merit a price of $1.00 per bag (one large brownie, 2- 3 cookies, etc.) and label the baggie with your assigned baking number. If you know the number you have been assigned for the year you can label with that. If not, I will gladly assign you one. I will contact everyone who signs up with their number. Of course, baked goods can be homemade, but please provide a recipe or list the ingredients (no meringues or creams, please). If your homemade item contains nuts or nut butter of any kind please be sure to label the bag with what kind of nuts are in it.
There will be several options for food donation drop off the week of the home show. Donations of water, chips & soda and any other non-perishables can be brought to the instrumental music room anytime the week before the show (9/24-9/28). Donations can also be dropped off the morning of the home show (9/29) AND we will likely be able to coordinate a drop off time for donations, canopies & coolers the day before the event. More detailed info will follow closer to the event regarding place & times for that day. **Baked goods can be made in advance, packaged and frozen. You can contact me in advance and we will make arrangements to get the baked goods from you and deliver them to the show. That will take some of the pressure off of those of us who will be resting up to work the day of the show!
**We also are in need of Canopies & Coolers for the day of the show. If you have either of these items and would be willing to let us use them for the day it would be great! The item would just need to be clearly labeled with your name. Once again...you can contact me in advance and I will make arrangements to get the item from you and to return it once you get back.
