Animal House Orientation
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Animal House Rescue & Grooming! Animal House is a small shelter with a big purpose. Since 2007 we have been rescuing dogs from overcrowded shelters here in Colorado and around the country. We are a limited-admission, adoption-guarantee shelter working to find loving, forever homes for every furry pal who crosses our doorstep. We look forward to having you as part of our team!
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer on an individual basis. Children ages 10-17 are permitted to volunteer as Dog Walkers along with a parent or guardian who is a trained volunteer. We also offer community service options for those at least 18 years old.
Please join us for an information session and volunteer orientation. In this session, we will cover Animal House's Mission and goals, volunteer opportunities, and expectations and rewards. We'll also share basic information about canine body language and dog handling. After volunteer orientation, you will be ready to sign up for hands on training at the shelter.
We ask for a volunteer fee, which covers the cost of your background check and t-shirt, and helps us direct more of our resources directly to the dogs. Fees are: $20 for college students, $30 for individuals over 18 years of age, OR $45 for families (one adult and up to two children.) Your volunteer fee may be paid by cash or check at the volunteer orientation, or you can pay by credit card, cash, or check at the shelter (1104 W Vine Dr, Fort Collins, CO 80521.)
