When you sign up, please note the organization with which you are affiliated in the Comment section (to the right of the information that you enter when signing up).  That helps us know if you are a League member, with one of our partners, or another group.

If you are a high school student seeking service hours, please also note the name of your high school in the comment section.  The comment section will appear when you are going through the sign-up process.  Please also bring your volunteer sheet with you to the event so that we can sign it. We look forward to having you!

Grace Presbyterian Church is located on the corner of Bath and Grace Streets in Springfield. There is a large parking lot on the south side of the church, and a smaller lot on the north side of the church. There is an elevator on the ground level, if needed, to get to the main level.

When close to the church, take Floyd Street to Bath Street. Grace Street is not a through road.

There will be 2. We will provide signs and stopwatches, but you may use cell phones to keep time, if you prefer. You will be seated front and center. We will do a training at 6:15.

Set Up

Chairs and tables set up by PCC staff; we may re-arrange if needed. Help place the tablecloths, notepad, pens, tent cards and water for the candidates on the tables. Help candidates and partners place their literature on their tables.

Two should be designated to greet the candidates have them sign in, help them place literature on candidates table. Offer snack. As needed, encourage audience to take seats, fill in cards. During session, assist runners as needed.

Hand out / collect / runner for index cards for questions

Please team up and work out what seems most efficient. LWV will provide two baskets for the cards and pencils. Stand inside the entrance to the room and hand them out. During the formal session, both take cards from audience to the sorters or moderator.

Clean Up

One please take responsibility for getting our table cloths and podium sign packed up and stowed in the car going back to the office. Others please help with loading chairs onto chair racks, cleaning up every scrap of food and water in the break room.
