Brighton Optimist Club
Ride for FREE in Downtown Brighton’s 4th of July Parade!
Brighton Optimist Club is proud to once again host its annual Kids' Bike Decorating Contest & Parade Ride. Here’s how it works:
DECORATE: Decorate your bike at home, or bring your bike and decorations to Hometown Bicycles (10595 Grand River Rd. in Brighton) between Saturday 6/29 and Wednesday 7/3!
DROP-OFF: You can bring your bike with you on the 4th of July, or decorate it and leave it at Hometown Bicycles to be delivered for you to the contest site on the 4th! If you opt to decorate your bike at Hometown, they will perform a $40 safety check for FREE! Helmet discounts are also available to contest entrants.
JUDGING: Bike drop-off and registration runs from 8 AM until 9:15 AM. Judging starts at 9:15 AM with awards immediately following. And then it's Parade time at 10 AM! No parking at contest site, located at Lynch & Sons (600 E. Main Street).
PARADE: Time to show off those bikes! Kids must be accompanied/supervised, so we encourage you to walk or, better still, ride alongside them! The parade ends near Main & 7th, by the high school. All bike riders MUST wear a helmet!
PICK-UP: Any participants using Hometown’s delivery service will have their bicycles picked up at the end of the parade route and delivered back to Hometown Bicycles for convenient pick-up. You can enjoy the rest of the event without worrying about your bikes!
