Brighton Optimist Club
Ride for FREE in Downtown Brighton’s 4th of July Parade!
Brighton Optimist Club is proud to once again host its annual Kids' Bike Decorating Contest & Parade Ride, open to ages kindergarten through 5th grade. Here’s how it works:
DECORATE: Decorate your bike at home, or bring your bike and decorations to Hometown Bicycles (10595 Grand River Rd. in Brighton) on Saturday (6/30) or Sunday (7/1) from 2-4pm for a decorating party... some decorations provided!
DROP-OFF: Any decorated bikes left with Hometown will be delivered by Hometown Bicycles to the contest site on the 4th, or you can drop off your bikes yourself on parade morning. (No parking at contest site - drop off only.)
JUDGING: Bike decorations will be judged on creativity and execution, with ribbons for top placers! Registration begins at 8:30am. Judging starts at 9:15am. Awards immediately follow, and then it’s parade time at 10am!
PARADE: Time to show off those bikes! Kids must be accompanied/supervised, so we encourage you to walk or, better still, ride alongside them!
PICK-UP: Any participants using Hometown’s delivery service will have their bicycles picked up at the end of the parade route and delivered back to Hometown Bicycles for convenient pick-up. You can enjoy the rest of the event without worrying about your bikes!
