Auditions for DMTC-YPT production of : Honk! Jr.

Davis Musical Theatre Company’s Young Performers Theater announces auditions for its upcoming production of HONK! Jr.  This delightful adaptation of the beloved fable and the award-winning musical of what makes us special. Honk! JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score.  Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will garner equal amounts of laughter and tears. 

The production offers many roles for experienced and new-to-the-stage boys and girls,
ages 7-17, plus 18 year-olds who are still in high school.

Auditions (via zoom, 30 minutes)
January 18, 4:30-6:30p
January 19, 4:30-6:30p 

When you sign up, the audition forms will be emailed to you and are to be returned prior to auditions to Jessica Chang @ [email protected] 

Please come prepared to sing a song from a musical theater show (not from this show), but rather than provide us with sheet music, please provide your own accompaniment (either piano-track recording, or karaoke version from YouTube) to sing along with.  

Callbacks will also be conducted via Zoom. After general auditions, those who are requested to attend Thursday’s callbacks will be provided materials in advance via email. Emailed materials may include a piece of a song and the musical track, and scenes and/or monologues to practice and prepare for callbacks.

Rehearsals (online via zoom) will start on January 25, 2020. The general rehearsal schedule is 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Not all actors will be called for every rehearsal.

**Please note that it is required that cast members must attend in person costume fittings, as well as  socially distanced recordings at Davis Musical Theatre Company in Davis, CA. All songs and scenes will be pre-recorded, no part of the performance will be live.  **

Performances will be viewable with ticket purchase on the following dates/times:
Friday, April 9th at 7 p.m.
Saturday, April 10th at 7 p.m.
Sunday, April 11th at 2 p.m.

There is no participation cost for performers, except for the optional Honk Jr t-shirt.
Parents/guardians are required to complete volunteer hours and it’s estimated that the
commitment on behalf of each cast member will be approximately eight hours.
Volunteer hours may include onsite support of the production following established
COVID-19 protocol.
