2022-23 Booster Volunteer Opportunities

The Cherokee HS Band Boosters relies on the volunteerism of all of its members to operate a successful organization.  We need your talents and ideas.

Please look through the list of positions below and sign up to help in as many ways as your time allows.  A member of the board or the committee chair will reach out to coordinate and assist volunteer efforts as needed.  

Additional sign-ups for event level volunteers will be sent out closer to event dates.

Administrative: Booster Membership Chair

Assists E-Board with preparation of membership materials for band handbook and back to school night; actively follows up with parents of students in all bands throughout the summer and fall to promote boosters and build membership base.

Administrative: Marching Band Registrar

This person would be responsible for keeping track of the registration forms for the new marching band season, communicate status of students with band director; communicate with parents/students regarding missing forms/payments prior to band camp

Administrative: Program Book Chair

Collects ads from Advertising Chair, as well as any information needed from Event Chairs and/or Band Directors to be included in various concert and event programs throughout the year. Coordinate the printing of the programs through the school.

Communications: Social Media Accounts Administration

Responsible for updating the Facebook page & Instagram (fundraising events and other content as needed.) Works with Executive Board and Band Directors to add/update content most relevant to the members.

Responsible for updating the band booster web site (meeting minutes, fundraising events, calendars and other content as needed.) Works with Executive Board and Band Directors to add/update content most relevant to the members.

Act as liaison between EP and booster members; Get schedule info from EP & share with corresponding sec and website admin;

Responsible for coordinating with local media in publicizing band events and fundraisers. Works closely with Executive Board and Band Directors to send press releases on events and special announcements to the press/media

Fundraising: Merchandise Sales Chairperson

Organizes the ordering of band and Cherokee merchandise for sale at Football games and events; coordinates volunteers for each sale date; works with Executive Board to communicate needs.

Fundraising: Merchandise Sales - Home Games & Concerts (8)

Work at the merchandise table from 30 minutes prior to kick-off to end of half time at a home football game, or during winter/spring concerts and other events as assigned. Sign-ups for specific events will be sent prior to each occurrence.

Organizes student/parent solicitation of the corporate sponsorships and program ads; works with Program Book Chair.

Organizes spring and summer dates with Laurel Oak; oversees volunteers for each date; Prepares flyer for communication committee to publicize; transports supplies to & from booster shed on day of event; makes signs for advertising the day of event

Schedules 3 dates annually with Evesham Township Public Works Department; picks up necessary clean-up supplies; requests & organizes volunteers

Organizes and Coordinates all facets of this event including venue; donations and volunteers. Communicates with and directs volunteers to ensure a successful event

Marching Band: Friday Night Dinner / Third Quarter Snack Chairs (2)

Organize all items necessary to provide dinner for participating band members when the band is performing during home football games: order food, organize volunteers to serve food; coordinate band camp dinners; 3rd qtr water/snacks;

Marching Band: Pit Crew (10)

Assist with the loading/unloading of Percussion instruments in and out of the truck that transports them to the football games and competitions. Assist with the setting up of props and pit instruments on the field for games and competitions.

Work with the student uniform manager to organize and distribute uniforms to marching band members; maintain inventory of school-owned uniform parts; wash bibbers prior to new season.
