Calvary continues their partnership with Lighthouse of Oakland County to distribute boxes with 35 pounds of non/perishable items to our neighbors and local agencies WEDNESDAY mornings at the Clarkston Campus. At 8am, the food boxes are removed from a semi truck and stacked on pallets. The boxes are then distributed between 9am-12pm to individual families and local organizations that drive up for curbside pick up. If you would like to be part of this amazing serving opportunity, please carefully review the volunteer requirements below and sign up today.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and must be able to lift at least 35 pounds, although two volunteers per shift are needed for non-lifting tasks. Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes, safety vests, face coverings, and gloves.
We are also looking for DRIVERS to deliver boxes to local agencies as well as local residents that are unable to collect the items themselves each Wednesday.
Volunteers must practice physical distancing while volunteering (staying 6 feet apart and wearing appropriate PPE) and take appropriate protective measures when working with the community. Anyone traveling internationally or by mass transit domestically will not be permitted to volunteer until at least 14 days after their return. Individuals who may be at highest risk for the coronavirus should not volunteer. High risk individuals may include: people over the age of 65 or those who have serious chronic medical conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, or lung disease. If you are feeling sick or have a fever, you will not be permitted to volunteer. Instead, please stay at home, and notify Calvary immediately. Also, if you test positive for COVID-19 within a week after volunteering, please notify Calvary immediately.
