VOLUNTEERING 2022-2023
REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES -
Families from Preschool to 8th Grade are required to participate in the Volunteer Service Program or Buy Out. Your volunteer requirement is based on your eldest child and is described in the requirements below. The credit value for each volunteer position is listed next to the job title. Most positions are filled on a first come, first served basis. Only the positions listed on the Sign Up Genius are available for next school year. Each family must complete the Sign Up Genius and be placed in a volunteer position for the 2022-2023 school year.
Furthermore, volunteers are required to sign in at each event they participate in. Sign in sheets from each event will be checked against the Sign Up Genius. If you fail to fulfill any of the required credits you signed up for, it will be your responsibility to find another position to fulfill your credits, or Buy Out. Failure to select an alternative will result in the assessment of the Buy Out fee for those credits missed.
Please remember to add your volunteer event to your calendar as a reminder. Our system is not equipped to send out those notifications.

HEALTH AND SAFETY -
The health and safety of our students, faculty and volunteers is of utmost importance. All volunteers will be expected to comply with the suggested protections and guidelines of the CDC, State and Diocese.Per Department of Public Health and Diocesan guidelines, volunteers who are supporting school functions when students are present (i.e. in-class, coaching, field-trip chaperone) will be required to submit proof of vaccination. Unvaccinated volunteers, or volunteers who do not submit proof of vaccination, must test negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to a volunteer activity (i.e. field trip chaperone) and provide negative test results to the school. Regularly scheduled volunteer positions (i.e. coach) who have not submitted proof of vaccination must submit negative COVID-19 test results weekly. At home tests are acceptable. Should the COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirement be a concern, there are volunteer opportunities that are currently exempt from those requirements. These positions are either take place outdoors or do not have contact with students within the school building. See attachment at the bottom for a current list of those volunteer opportunities.
CREDIT REQUIREMENTS - (based on the grade of your eldest child)
PRESCHOOL 2 day a week program = 0.5 credit required
PRESCHOOL 3 day a week program = 1.0 credit required
PRESCHOOL 5 day a week program = 1.5 credit required
TYKE - 8TH GRADE = a total of 1.5 credits required (any positions of your choosing that total 1.5)
BUY OUT OPTIONS -
If a family chooses not to participate in the Volunteer Service Program, they must choose the Buy Out option and School Administration will facilitate payment via your FACTS account.
0.5 credit - $500.00
1.0 credit - $1,000.00
1.5 credits - $1,500.00
FINGERPRINTING / SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING -
All volunteers who work directly with children on a regular basis (including driving for field trips or sports events) must be fingerprinted through the Diocese of Orange and complete an online Safe Environment training course. The course training link is available in the Front Office. After the course is completed, please print out the certificate and turn it in to the school office.
Please contact the Front Office for fingerprinting forms, details and locations. Volunteers may only begin working after their fingerprinting is cleared and their Safe Environment certificate has been received by the school office. Fingerprinting may take a few weeks for complete verification to be received by school administration.
ALL PRESCHOOL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE A CURRENT MMR, TDAP AND FLU SHOT (OR A LETTER STATING YOU ARE REFUSING THE FLU SHOT) IN ORDER TO VOLUNTEER IN THE PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM OR AT ANY PRESCHOOL EVENT
