The keynote will focus first on the reconception of the Bible as sounds performed for audiences from memory rather than texts read by readers from a manuscript. In this workshop we are then exploring the recovery of the original character of the Bible.  Tom will talk about Jesus as a storyteller and describe some of the characteristics of his parables as told to audiences.

Following the keynote, choose a story learning workshop taught by members of the Cin-Day Guild.  After lunch, Tom will address “The Social Memory of God’s Story and the Dynamics of Personal and Community Formation.”  Variety workshops follow, with topics ranging from “Tips & Techniques for Tellers” to “Circle of the Word” (working with incarcerated women and Bible stories) to “Tandem Storytelling.”
