Northwest Community Center holds a monthly resource distribution event to provide diapers and hygiene items to refugee families in Vickery Meadow. The nearly three mile radius represents over thirty people groups, fifty languages, and numerous religious beliefs. There is a new system to distribute resources in light of COVID-19. We will distribute diapers by appointment outside in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.
A reminder email will be sent to volunteers the week before the event. Please complete the COVID-19 screening before arrival. There will be a brief orientation before your shift regarding your role.
Thank you for helping us continue to serve families during this time! Your heart to serve furthers the mission to AID refugees to start a new life, EMPOWER refugees to thrive in a new culture, and INVITE refugees to experience new life.
Safety Precautions: Masks are required. We will provide masks, gloves, and protective gear to those who need it. All surfaces will be sanitized after use. We encourage social distancing as you volunteer with us. For the safety of our refugees, staff, and volunteers at Northwest Community Center, we ask that you do not volunteer if you are sick or have been sick with symptoms in the last 14 days. Please consider volunteering with us at another time if you have any of the following symptoms: cough, fever, body aches, sneezing, or runny nose.
There is an additional opportunity to serve on Thursdays each week registering and making appointments for new families.
