By working with our after school program, you are empowering children and youth to begin the process of learning how to live in a new culture by assisting them with their homework. As you meet kids where they are, you are helping them to establish a pathway to success in life and conversations about Jesus.
Come volunteer with After School Homework Help program at the NCC from 3:30-5:30pm during the school year. There will be two 45 minute sessions Monday-Thursday. We plan to meet in person at the Northwest Community Center. In light of the pandemic, we will offer an online option this semester. If serving students through an online platform interests you, please email Faith.
Thank you for helping us continue to serve families during this time! Your heart to serve furthers the mission to AID refugees to start a new life, EMPOWER refugees to thrive in a new culture, and INVITE refugees to experience new life.
Safety Precautions: Please complete the COVID-19 screening before arrival. Masks are required. We will provide masks, gloves, and protective gear to those who need it. All surfaces will be sanitized after use. We encourage social distancing as you volunteer with us. For the safety of our refugees, staff, and volunteers at Northwest Community Center, we ask that you do not volunteer if you are sick or have been sick with symptoms in the last 14 days. Please consider volunteering with us at another time if you have any of the following symptoms: cough, fever, body aches, sneezing, or runny nose.
While we ask that you commit for the full two hour shift, we are flexible. We would love to have you and invite you to sign up! Background checks are required to volunteer.
Please reach out to Faith regarding further questions related to the volunteer process.
