Volunteers for Chapel North
TOGETHER WE SERVE
THANK YOU to those that have already signed up to help!
We are still in need of people to serve on this team. Please take a look at the available spots and sign up to serve!
Invite people to be a part of this ministry team.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the service start time meet in the Chapel lobby with the Lead for instructions
Your first job is to greet people as they enter the Chapel for worship. Two greeters stands near the north (parking lot) entrance, One or two greeters at the main chapel doors near to the 'Take A Moment Cafe, and one greeter at the balcony door.
In addition to greeting people, you may also need to direct them to the worship bags for the little ones, and also clipboards and worksheets for school age kids and NextGen kids. Those items can be found in the hall near the main Chapel entrance and also near the exit that leads to the north lot. There is a classroom down the hall for parents who need some space for their little one. This nursery is not supervised. People may also need direction to find the restroom or balcony, so familiarize yourself with those locations as well.
Communion is served the 2nd and 4th weekends of the month. After greeting at the beginning of the service, you will also help with communion. Check in with the Pastor before the service for direction. If you've not served communion before, please let him know so you can be trained.
Volunteers will commune with the pastor or each other AFTER distribution. Those serving in the balcony will commune congregants first, then join the communion line at the floor level, or commune each other in the balcony.
You will also help collect the offering. As an usher (one for each section on the main floor of the chapel), pass buckets down each row on the lower level and one or two buckets should be passed in the balcony level, depending on the number of congregants in that area. At this time please also count the people in your section and report that attendance number to the Lead person who will record and collect the offerings for deposit.
The Lead will take the offering collection to the Alter Guild room and place money in the bag marked for the service you are attending. Please also tally the attendance count and mark on the attendance sheet found in the bag. When attendance is tallied and the offering is in the bag for that service, lock the bag, walk the bag to the safe in the usher's room at the back of the main sanctuary (you can either leave the bag with the sound tech and continue with worship and take it at the end of the service or take it directly to the ushers room). It is best to walk with another usher when depositing the bag.
Thank you for serving!
