ReUSE Minnesota is a local non-profit organization, connecting people and organizations to the reuse, rental, and repair services they need. Reuse is good for communities and the environment and our vision is a strong Minnesota reuse economy that leads the nation.
ReUSE Minnesota stands with our communities advocating systems change and pursuing justice for George Floyd. One of the ways we aim to support our communities during this time is through the Twin Cities Plywood Rescue. Across the Twin Cities, businesses have boarded up their windows during the protests, and we’d like to support the recovery and reuse of this material. As businesses start removing plywood and reopening their locations, our goal is to minimize the amount of usable material going to the landfill or being burned.
Unnecessary disposal of this plywood wastes natural resources and labor to create these material, often resulting in vulnerable and minority communities bearing the brunt of the pollution from manufacturing and disposal.
We are leading an effort to collect and store plywood for reuse later. Please help us by donating your time and resources.

A large lot will act as a central collection site. Temporary collections in neighborhoods will also be set up as volunteers are available.
Businesses are expected to start de-boarding the first week of June depending on location. We hope to have everything in place to start collecting on Thursday, June 4th and will continue as necessary.
