Kitsap County 4-H Public Presentations
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!
Welcome to our online sign-ups for Public Presentations! This sign up is for JUDGES! Judging Public Presentations is one of the best parts of 4-H. It is a wonderful opportunity to see what our youth are learning about and a wonderful chance to encourage them in the often scary task of public speaking.
Remember that the purpose of public presentations are to help our members learn life skills of self-confidence in speaking in public, learning how to prepare a talk, and learning about their chosen subject matter. Our job as judges is to help them learn from the experience; to offer positive feedback on aspects that are well done, and to offer useful suggestions for improving their talks.
There is a wonderful online training that I encourage you to watch before coming to judge. You goal as a judge should be to see every youth that comes to present to you as a potential blue ribbon winner. This does not mean that every youth will get a blue ribbon regardless of how much we want them to.
Please follow the link to watch the online training.
Juniors should give a 3 - 8 minute presentation; intermediates should give a 5 - 15 minute presentation; seniors should give a 8 - 20 presentation. No presentation should go over 20 minutes.
Presentations will be held at Liberty Bay Presbyterian Church, Hwy 305 & Harrison in Poulsbo. The church is located across from Poulsbo Inn on Hwy 305 on the right as you head toward Bainbridge Island. The address is 18561 9th Ave. NE. If you have questions, e-mail Heidi Brandt at email@example.com. If you are calling during the contest, you can reach me at 360-265-2545. You can call, text or send me a Facebook message.
