There are two outdoor church projects that need to be done this spring. One is ditch patrol south of town and the other is landscape improvements around the west side of the parking lot. The day scheduled to do these projects is Saturday, April 24 from 8 am to noon, with a rain date of May 1.
The day will begin with coffee and donuts in the east parking lot at church. All participants are asked to wear masks and bring their own lawn chairs for coffee, lunch and breaks.
Gerald Knoll will distribute supplies for those patrolling the ditch and then workers will head out to our designated area on Highway 65/69 South. Be sure to bring your own gloves and dress appropriately. If you have any questions about ditch patrol, call Gerald at 515-681-7909.
Last spring, the Council approved a master landscape plan for the church grounds. Phase 1 includes planting and rock mulching around the west edge of the parking lot and in front of the church. Paula Schultz (515-650-7991) and Sue Thompson (641-942-6280) will coordinate this part of the work day.
When the work is finished, a box lunch (including gluten free options) will be provided.
Many hands make light work, and we need many hands to accomplish these projects. We also need tools for the landscaping project.
