Academic Technology Workshops
Presented by Debra Mascott
Of course you know Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You’ve been using the software for years, but did you know that your files may be inaccessible for individuals with disabilities (e.g. low vision or visually impaired)? Perhaps a document cannot be read by assistive technology readers. Ally, a new feature purchased in for Blackboard assesses all uploaded digital content and gauges its accessibility level. You will be amazed that the syllabus you are using may not be accessible to all students.
This one-hour workshop covers how Ally gauges the files and offers instructions on how to fix each item. In addition, we will cover advanced new features offered by Microsoft Office 365 to improve readability. You will see documents with errors, warnings and tips to improve its readability. We will work through several examples so you can turn make your files digitally accessible to all.
