HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!!!
We have only listed one In Action event this month because we are also very excited about our Winter Speaker Event on Saturday, February 9th fom 9 to 11 a.m. and invite you to join us there. Sandra Drury will share one of World Vision's most powerful new programs on how to break the chains of poverty with a biblically-empowered worldview. You can sign up by going to http://www.cwwov.org and choosing "Events".
We have also been given an opportunity on Tuesday, February 12th, to bless ten teenage girls and their six children who are part of the program offered at Door To Grace. Door to Grace is a Christian-based nonprofit organization that is committed to demonstrating Christ’s love and redemptive healing to rescued, at risk, teen girls. The Day Home provides these girls an array of day services required for restoration from the complex trauma of isolation, betrayal, violence, and forced prostitution. A unique tapestry of experienced staff and trained volunteers gather around them, weaving together education, life skills, job skills, and art in a healthy, nurturing environment. This sustainable community of support helps these teens progress from surviving to thriving.
We will be decorating their Day Home for Valentines Day on the 12th from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Some of us will decorate the room while others will make Valentines for the girls. Please bring a snack/treat to share with us while we work and enough to leave there so the girls can have a sweet Valentine's Day! If you are new to Women of Vision in Action, our trips to Door to Grace are always fun events and great times to get to know each other. Please go to the bottom of the page to begin the sign-up for this event.
Thank you for serving with us and showing the light of Christ to those in need!
