Strawberries 'N Arts Festival, Saturday June 18, 2022 10-3pm

Hanging the Strawberry Festival Sign

The day after the apple blossom pancake breakfast, the Strawberry Festival sign gets hung up on the side of the church. Though the job only takes a few minutes, two strong and tall folks are needed to hoist the sign onto the hooks.

Posting Strawberry Festival Fliers

Fliers and a flier distribution list are located in the door slot outside of the church office. Please take only the packet for the area where you intend to hang the fliers (Nab, Forge Village, etc.) and include the area you're covering in the comments.

Gas Grills Needed (With full tank, please)

We are looking to borrow some gas grills for use to cook with during the festival. This is a great way to season your grill for the summertime! We can pick up your grill early that morning and drop it off at the end of the day.

Baked Goods Donations

Drop off of baked goods takes place starting 24 hours prior to the festival. Please provide an ingredient list for each item baked. Thank you!

Clean Trash Barrels needed

Clean trash barrels needed for housing iced sodas at the grill.

Kitchen Aid Mixers needed

The Kitchen Aid Mixers will be busy whipping up the cream for topping the delicious shortcakes! Please Kitchen Aid brands only, as we've found that other brands risk motor burnout. Thank you in advance!

Posting the Festival Campaign Signs

Within 2 weeks before the Festival, help to place the 8-10 strawberry signs at designated locations about town! Having a friend along makes this job easier, as one person can drive and one can post the signs. Help to spread the word!

Paper Goods Shopping- Rosenblooms

All amounts & instructions will be provided. Paper goods needed, to be purchased from Rosenblooms Party Store in Lowell- pick up anytime 2 weeks ahead.

Market Basket Orders/Pickup

All amounts and instructions will be provided. Shortcake,Ice,Creamer,Lemonade need to be ordered from MB one week before the festival (6/11) Lemonade and Creamer is picked up on Friday 6/17, Ice is picked up Saturday AM 6/18 at 9:30 and dropped off @FPCU

BJs Shopping

BJs Shopping All amounts and instructions will be provided. This volunteer has a BJs Card, and can buy items anytime in the week before, then bring them to the FPCU basement.

Ayottes Soda/Drinks Shopping

Ayottes Soda Shopping All amounts and instructions will be provided. This happens the Thursday before the Festival. The volunteer(s) will need a van or car with good shocks, and strong arms.

Shopping for the Festival- Friday Morning to Costco with Ellen

Who doesn't like shopping? Help out fabulous Shopping Coordinator Ellen Martins on Friday Morning June 17th to make a Costco Run to pick up supplies for the Festival. Van or SUV is a plus. This is always a fun job.

Strawberry Pickup

Someone to make the drive up to Hollis NH to pick up our 400 quarts of strawberries. It's not long drive, and very peaceful and fun.

Town Common Staking (night before)

To measure and place temporary booth staking markers prior to the morning of the festival.

Set up and a bucket Washing

Always a fun night-before job. Help to wash and sanitize all serving items and surfaces that will be used in the next day's festival!

Strawberry Operations

This person will help to oversee the goings on in Fellowship Hall the morning of the event. Greeting volunteers and ensuring ServSafe guidelines are being followed. It's a simple but incredibly important job! Easy and quick orientation the morning of.

Strawberry Hullers

30+ hullers needed (masking required) to make short work of hulling the 360 quarts of strawberries for the festival. It's a fun way to start the day!

Berry Mashing Assistant

Shadow Berry Mashing Extraordinaire Tom Lumenello, and help to oversee the berry mashing.

Berry Mashing

Younger children (age 6 and older, masking required) are invited to help crank the strawberries through the antique berry masher under the tutelage of berry mashing veteran, Tom Lumenello and assistant.

Lemonade Makers

The lemonade team will make buckets of lemonade which will accomompany our freshly made shortcake desserts. Please meet in the Fellowship Hall Kitcken with thoroughly washed hands, tied back hair (if applicable). Gloves and instructions will be provided

Whipped Cream Team

Whip up the many gallons of whipped cream used to top off the luscious shortcakes.

Shortcake Vendor Delivery

Help to deliver the pre-orders for shortcake to vendors who are otherwise unable to leave their booths. Volunteers may come to the FPCU shortcake table and check in for instruction five minutes prior to sign-up. 5th graders and up are welcome!

Vendor Food Delivery

This involves bringing food to the vendors who may be unable to leave their booths to order lunch. Come to the grill tent at 10:30am. We are looking for one organized volunteer to manage the deliveries while the rest run the food.

Strawberry Shortcake Runners

This task involves bringing shortcake and whipped cream by wagon to the shortcake table. Strong tens and older for wagon pulling.

Strawberry Shortcake Servers and Cashiers

(Karen Cavanaugh- Table Manager) Folks needed to serve shortcake at the shortcake table. Cashiers must be able to handle a fast pace of cashiering. Knowledge of the use of "Square" a plus (please indicate in comments)

Lemonade Servers

To serve the lemonade that accompanies the shortcake. (Karen Cavanaugh, Table Manager)

Grill Cooks

(Steve Marple- Grill Manager) Cook lunch items on the numerous grills in the grill station. For the AM shift, we are looking for 2 cooks to arrive by 9am for setup before being joined by the other 3 at 10am. Please indicate shift preference in comments.

Grill Servers

Collect money and hand out grill slips, and/or serve lunch items at the grill station. The PM shift will also be involved in some cleanup of the grill station. Hair must be pulled back where applicable. Please indicate server/cashier pref in comments.

Grill Cooks

Cook lunch items in the grill station. Please pull back hair if applicable, and hats are welcome as well.

Grill cashiers

Take orders from our hungry patrons. Familiarity with "Square" a plus (but we'll orient you so no worries). Bring a friendly smile and have fun!

Serving people drinks and snacks only (no grill food).
