Cape Fear Volunteer Center
The staff of COVID Networks, an organization which connects students to seniors during the current pandemic, and we wanted to partner with you for a volunteer opportunity during the quarantine. Having family and friends and watching them hesitant to leave the house in fear of being exposed to the disease, we know that this is an especially challenging time for the elderly.
They have designed an online forum where senior citizens can request to hold online sessions with students and other young citizens, where they play games, do fun activities, and hold engaging, fresh conversations. They are PVSA-certified and currently in the process of becoming a 501-c national nonprofit recognized by the government. Their 750+ volunteers have worked with over 6200 seniors and 52 senior centers across the world, and have partners in the U.S., Canada, Iran, India, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Sweden.
They are looking for a group of volunteers who are willing to dedicate themselves consistently to their role.
If you are interested in working with them, please let us know and we can get you in contact with them to schedule a Zoom call for further discussion.
