Join us on 12/24 at 10:00 am to distribute Christmas Eve dinners to low income, elderly and infirmed New Hanover Country residents. This is a festive family friendly event. Bring your friends and/or family, bring large boxes, Rubbermaid-like containers, or laundry baskets to put the meals in that you will deliver. This event is rain or shine. you may want to bring a towel to protect your car seats in case of spillage. Meals are prepared by a partner church, they arrive in take home boxes filled with a protein, stuffing, potatoes, beans, gravy and a roll, we also give a dessert and cutlery (contents of the meal box or subject to change). You will get to select the part of town you would like to go to, we have a variety of personal homes, and public housing areas, we will also have a special team that likes to take it to the streets, and go under bridges and to our homeless tent cities. Please bring your gps, and reading glasses so you can see where you are going.
Our time together at our gathering location,** location* This year is a new location, Diamond Food Enterprise's, located just beside the New Hanover County Board of Elections entrance, will be short, you should be on the road by 11, and done delivery by noonish. When you arrive you will sign in, bring your boxes in with you. There will be a line for picking up the food, so you may want to wear your coat as we anticipate this will be held outside at the front of Diamond Food Enterprise's. You will then select your area. If you quickly deliver your meals and want to see if there are more meals to be delivered please text me at 910-200-2201. We don't want anyone to be forgotten.
