Auditions and interviews for Flashback Theater Co.'s upcoming season will be held in July by appointment only. Please select the appropriate slot for your appointment and do not double up slot reservations, as we can only see one person in each 15 minute segment. If you would like to be considered for a role and also considered for crew or production team positions, please select two 15 minute slots so you will have enough time.
If you need to change time slots or schedule an alternate time that is not listed here, please call (888) 394-3282 ext. 0. For changing a slot, please call at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule. Appointment changes requested within 48 hours of slot may or may not be rescheduled, based on availability. Appointment changes requested after a missed time slot will not be rescheduled.
Our artists are typically paid a stipend to offset the costs of attending rehearsals/performances. We are a semi-professional company, and we operate in a professional atmosphere. Our artists are treated with respect and we expect you to return that respect by showing up on time to all rehearsals and performances, and collaborating in a positive manner. Your audition/interview is the first opportunity to show your respect for the theater process and thus your ability to work well with us; so arrive early, be prepared, and always say "Thank you!"
You should prepare a 1-2 minute monologue that showcases your stage presence and acting range. A second contrasting monologue is acceptable but not required. Please bring a headshot and acting resume if available. You will fill out a contact form at your audition time. Email is our primary way of contacting actors for call backs, so please be sure you provide an email that you check regularly.
By auditioning for the entire season, you are indicating interest in being considered for casting opportunities for the season. You will be able to indicate on your audition form if you are unavailable for particular shows. The director of each show will be calling back individuals from this pool of talent for show specific audition opportunities, based on your type and experience. For this reason, it is imperative that you bring a photo of yourself and a performance resume or list of previous performances and roles so that we don't miss you when arranging callbacks. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, July 21 for American Hero and Local Short Plays. Additional callbacks may be scheduled at the same time or on a later date.
You should prepare a list of past theater experience, if you have any. If not, think about the skills and experience you have that would translate well to backstage and production. This can be communication skills, design or construction experience, etc. If you have any particiular interest in learning a new skill or working on a specific show or project, be prepared to discuss that as well.
