2018 Campo Cross Country Volunteers

Listed below are the parent volunteer job assignments for the 2018 season.

Each family is required to fill at least 2 positions for the 2018 season (** Note that a few positions count as 2+), or "Buy Out" of volunteering by providing a $50 donation per position.

08/13/2018 (Mon.) THESE POSITIONS ARE FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON   

** MORAGA July 4th Fun Run Race Co-Director (6)

Facilitate publicity, inventory and update equipment and supplies, coordinate volunteers, process entries, solicit sponsors, communicate/coordinate with Town of Moraga for track and cross country team Moraga 4th of July Fun Run.

 

** Season Team Treasurer

Maintain bank records and book keeping, manage deposits, process and issue payments, assist in management of team finances

 

** Season Photography Lead

Coordinate with all photographers to make sure we have coverage at all meets and events.

 

Season Team Photographer (4)

Be a part of a team of photographers to provide photographic coverage for all of the meets and as many of the races as possible. A reasonably high quality camera (i.e. no iPhones) and the ability to edit and upload photos to Facebook and/or Shutterfly

 

** ESI Concessions Coordinator (2)

Organize concessions sales for the Ed Sias Invitational. Coordinate food donations, secure tents for serving food, coordinate with volunteers for set up, sales and take down.

 
08/31/2018 (Fri.) LITTLE ED Practice Meet @ Hidden Valley Park, Martinez  3:30pm - 6:00pm  

Bus Chaperone (2)

Ride bus from CHS to meet site and from meet site back to CHS. Bus departs CHS front lot at 1:40pm. Please be in front lot by 1:30pm. Bus returns to CHS at approximately 6:30pm.

Bring Water and Gatorade to Meet (2)

Pick up 2 thermoses from Chuck's Classroom (E12) day before meet. Fill with ice, 1 water, 1 gatorade. Deliver to team area at meet. Take home after meet, clean and return to classroom the following day.

 

Bring Bananas, Watermelon, or Other Non-Acidic Food Items

Small snack for 40 athletes. You must deliver these items to the team area at the meet site by the start of the meet.

 
09/07/2018 (Fri.) ED SIAS INVITE @ CHS, Moraga & Hidden Valley Park, Martinez  8:00am - 12:00pm  

ESI Food Booth Pick up and Return

Pick up the 10x10' food both tent from Wally's Rentals in Concord on Friday, September 8. Deliver to HVP during Friday setup. Return to Wally's Rental after conclusion of meet on Saturday, September 9. SUV or Pickup truck required.

 

ESI Set up helper Shift #1 (6)

PICK UP TRUCK OR SUV REQUIRED. Meet Chuck @ CHS track shed to begin transporting supplies to and set up at Hidden Valley Park. Bring gloves, water and food!

ESI: THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Stay at the park from 7:00 Fri night guarding equipment, tents, flagging and the rest of the meet equipment. Bring a tent, big flashlight, sleeping bag, etc

 
09/08/2018 (Sat.) ED SIAS INVITE @ Hidden Valley Park, Martinez  6:00am - 10:00am  

ESI Concessions Set Up & Sales (2)

Arrive early! Help deliver supplies, set up concession stand, organize supplies, handle money box.

 
7:30am - 3:30pm  

ESI Starter

You get to fire a gun. Give starting commands, then start the race by firing a 32. starter's gun. If anyone goes down in the first 50 yards, fire the gun again to recall the start.

 

ESI Backup Starter

Assist the starter. Help organize teams on the start line. Watch for falls in the first 50 yards and fire a 22. starter's gun to recall the race if anyone goes down.

 

ESI Start line counter

Help place the athletes on the starting line and count the total number of athletes in the race and report it to the timer. Assist the starter as needed.

 

ESI Finish Line Timer

Click a button every time a finisher crosses the finish line for each race

 

ESI Finish Line Head Umpire

Be in charge of finish line helpers and call out finishing order of athlets as they cross the line.

 

ESI Finish Chute helper (6)

Usher athletes down the chute, help keep them in order.

 

ESI Bib Tag Collector

Stand at end of chute. Take tear away portion of bib number from each athlete and place in order on wire spindle.

 

ESI Awards Distributor

Stand at end of chute. Hand out awards to top finishers in each race.

ESI Course Monitor (6)

Monitor start and finish corridors and high traffic areas on course, keep spectators off course, control spectator crossing at designated intersections. Bring a whistle.

 

ESI T-Shirt Sales (2)

Sell meet shirts at booth. Be in charge of money box.

 

ESI Mile Mark Split Caller

Stand at mile mark and yell splits for eadh race. Bring a chair, umbrella, and plenty of water/snacks.

 

ESI Mile Mark Spotter

Stand at mile mark and note top individuals and teams. Bring a chair, umbrella, and plenty of water/snacks.

 

ESI Mile Mark Reporter

Stand at mile mark and radio updates to the announcer. Bring a chair, umbrella, and plenty of water/snacks. We'll give you a radio!

 

ESI Lead Biker For Each Race

Ride your mountain bike ahead of lead runner through middle 1.5 miles of course for each race.

 

ESI Trail Biker for Each Race (2)

Ride your mountain bike behind last runner through middle 1.5 miles of course for each race. Aid any runners, alert meet director of emergency. Bring your cell phone.

 

ESI Concessions Sales (2)

Help run concession stand, organize supplies, handle money box.

 

ESI BBQ Master (2)

Grill burgers and dogs at one of the park's built in grills next to the concession tent.

Coordinate the other parent volunteers in providing food and drink at the conclusion of the Orienteering Championships.

Help keep athletes moving quickly down chute. Follow instructions from hed umpire at finish line. Please note that this is a VARSITY ONLY competition, though all parents are welcome to volunteer.
