Spirit of Christmas 2017
Want to put a big smile on a child's face this Christmas? Sponsor a family or child by buying requested gifts! Our families are referrals from school social workers and other agencies, as well as current and past Simple Needs GA clients. We don't want to see any child be "giftless" at Christmas time!
Currently, we are just listing family sizes and you can choose the # of kids based on your budget. By Dec 18/19, we might list each child individually. You can always email us to ask a question - [email protected]
How the program works: For each child sponsored, we ask that you buy 3-4 gifts from their wish list to total around $100 (if they request a more expensive gift, can be fewer items). If you'd like to buy a gift card for clothes or shoes, that would be fine (Walmart probably would be the best for that- please get gift receipts for any clothing).
If the list of items requested totals more than $100, you would just choose a few items to get to that amount (we can ask the parent any questions or about priorities as needed).
If you'd like to buy a gift(s) but don't have the $100 budget, email me and I can give you an individual gift or two with which to help.
No need to wrap your gifts as we will have volunteers to do so. Your options to drop off at our warehouse which is off Cobb Parkway near the Walker School (Allgood Rd.) are Dec 19, 20, 21 (and 22/23 if you can't deliver earlier) between 10 and 4 (some days we'll be there later). I'll share our address with you via email.
We will add a board game or two or three (depending on ## of kids and ages) to their stash and we'll give a $25 Walmart card to the parent(s). We also will add hats/gloves/scarves for each of the kids (or if you sponsor a family or child, you can provide). These are listed on our signupgenius as well in case you'd like to purchase these items.
If you'd like to "Be an Elf" and sponsor a child for $100 (or any amount is helpful!), you can donate here: https://simpleneedsgablog.com/donate/financial-support/
(Note that the majority of our kids are not listed as many were sponsored prior to the SignUpGenius creation.)
If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. Thank you for your desire to help others!
