Advent is a special season of preparation in anticipation of Christmas. While the world outside seems hectic, this time offers us a chance to pause, reflect and wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Lord. We’re offering a special opportunity for the children of our parish to participate in our weekend liturgies at St. Michael’s this Advent.
For each weekend Mass during each of the four Sundays of Advent, we’d like a child (or several children from the same family) to process in with the priest and help to light the candles on the Advent wreath in the front of the church. The priest will assist small children. This is an excellent way for your children to play a special role in the life of the liturgy as we prepare to meet Jesus at Christmas.
Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. This opportunity is open to all children of our parish, including those in our parish school and those in our Families Growing in Faith program. When signing please place your name (the name of the parent/guardian/responsible adult) in the first and last name fields. Then write the names of the children participating in the "my comment" field. Please provide an email address so we can send further instructions, reminders and updates. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to Mass start times.
