Judges in the Classroom is a program with which USD Law has recently joined forces. The program matches California teachers with judges who can visit their K-12 classrooms to assist with students’ inquiries into the judicial branch, the Constitution, rule of law, and related topics. Judges in the Classroom is seeking law students to also get involved by attending these classroom visits and assisting the judges with the lesson and answering questions the K-12 students may have about your law school experience. It would be a great way to get involved and share time with many San Diego judges. There are multiple volunteer opportunities available this semester. By signing up for a date below, you are committing to that judicial classroom visit. Once you have selected the date, additional information about the visit will be provided and you will be connected with the Judge assigned to that visit.
If you are unavailable for any of the opportunities below but would like to learn more about any upcoming Judges in the Classroom volunteer opportunities, please fill out the Judges in the Classroom Interest List form. These hours can be counted toward your pro bono recognition hours and your parking (some schools may charge for parking) and mileage will be reimbursed for travel to and from the schools (Note: USD will be the origin of travel). If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Director for Law Student Affairs Laurie Keller.
