Meals on Wheels - BJWC
WHAT: Meals on Wheels delivers hot meals to seniors and people with disabilities in the Barrington area. Organized by the Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA), the group relies on the support of volunteer drivers to pick up and deliver the meals to those in need.
WHEN: BJWC volunteer drivers are needed throughout the year. It’s a very simple process. For each date, 3 BJWC drivers are asked to come to St. Paul United Church of Christ (401 E. Main Street, Barrington) at 11 am. Deliver the meals along the specified route and return the containers to St. Paul’s around 1 pm.
*** Please be reasonably sure you will be able to make your shift before you sign up. We understand that conflicts come up. However, should you not be able to make your shift, it is completely your responsibility to find a replacement who is a BJWC member. Please do NOT remove yourself from Sign-Up Genius once you have signed up. If you have already reached out to BJWC members that you know and you are unable to find a replacement, we strongly urge trying the following:
1) Join the Facebook “BJWC Members Group” page (friend Annmarie Dymon first IG not already) and post there
2) Text fellow BJWC members via DirectorySpot - text messages can be sent by slightly pressing on the phone number listed in someone’s profile and then it defaults to a text message bubble”
*** Once you find a replacement driver, please contact Sarah Cuthbertson (224-659-3281) with the name and contact information.
